Mission Opportunities

On-Going Opportunities

IHN Interfaith Hospitality Network (Family Promise) — It takes lots of volunteers for each week that HPC hosts Warren County homeless families as they try to transition to permanent housing.  See sign-up sheet in Atrium.

Opportunities to Serve include:

    • providing a food product from the supply list
    • helping prepare and serve dinner
    • socializing with guests and children in the evening (maybe some crafts!!)
    • helping set-up on Sunday
    • helping with tear-down on Sunday
    • doing laundry afterward

Mary Haven Youth Center — Every 4th Monday, bringing activities, treats and caring to troubled teens.

FAITH Ministries — A pressing need for volunteers at this eight-church mission providing help to local families in emergencies as economy worsens.

Mason Health Care Center — Be a Bingo bringer! Participate in social visits to this local nursing home.

The Angel Tree — Be a secret Santa, donating gifts per needs posted by Deacons on the Angel Tree in the Atrium.

October Coat Drive — Help needy children and adults to stay warm during the winter.

Deacon "Deputy" — Prepare meals to help families through funerals, births, and emergencies.  Offer transportation to church for members unable to drive. Donate food and prepare Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for the needy and homebound.

Inner City

Our Daily Bread — Every 1st Thursday, help serve noonday meal to the impoverished in Over-The-Rhine.

Tender Mercies — Fifth Thursday of any month, help prepare and serve supper to inner-city homeless and hurting.

Carmel Church Partnering

Minute for Mission

Each summer, our VBS children learn about and support 2 missions. The HPC congregation is also invited to join them, as we donate to Carmel Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Youth Connection of Cincinnati (PYC). Collection bins are in the Atrium.

Crayons (24 packs), kid scissors, 3 ring pocket folders, 3 ring loose-leaf notebook paper, glue sticks, pencils, block erasers, pencil-top erasers, and backpacks (new or gently used). Each additional $5.00 cash donation will help purchase a new backpack for each child. Personal supplies will also be collected: pocket hand sanitzers, tooth brushes and paste, and deodorant.
